Hernando Muertes learned from a young age to not trust anyone. The constant abuse from his classmates isolated him in life, with his only escape being professional wrestling. After watching his hero, Armando Ramirez, win a World Championship live, Muertes knew that he wanted to be a wrestler someday. This led him to join PSA as El Chupapolla. He failed to achieve true success in PSA, but this all changed when his hero, Sr. Ramirez, joined the roster. Ramirez saw potential in Chupapolla, so he inspired him to get a makeover, leading to the birth of Hernando Muertes. At the end of Season 5, all members of El Orgullo left PSA in solidarity to pursue other wrestling opportunities.
